Tomashevich Pegas, 1943 - a ground-attack aircraft made from non-strategic materials, this was a simple rugged design that offered good pilot protection but suffered from bad handling qualities. The second prototype, shown above, succeeded in destroying some enemy vehicles during an armed test flight - but the 'Pegas' project was eventually abandoned after only 5 examples had been built.
